How to navigate in 3D

Exploit the full potential of the 3D viewer to explore the seismic source

When you are in the detail view of a seismic event use the mouse to navigate the scene to move closer or farther away, move laterally, above/below (you can even go below the surface!) and tilt the globe.

Don’t be discouraged if you find it a bit difficult at first: it only takes a little bit to become familiar with 3D navigation! If for some reason you get lost, don’t worry: click on “reset 3D view” to return to the starting point.

Adjust the layer to “set surface transparency” to manage the transparency of the ground and see the fault through the Earth’s surface.

Along with the rupture distribution of this event, you can continue to see other faults: if they get in the way of your view, turn them off with the “hide show other events“.

To return to the global view with a list of all available events click on the “back to global view” X in the upper right corner
